Pros of Optimism
“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.”– Helen Keller. The faith to fix any problem will help leaders resolve a situation before it is even at hand. This is a great way to learn from past mistakes and decisions and make sure they do not arouse again. It is also a great way to prepare for the future and any new sudden complications. This prevents panic and quick decision making. The educated way to deal with dilemmas is having a practical and calm attitude.
Many benefits result from the use of optimism. It creates joyfulness. It is like looking at a glass half-full instead of half-empty. This is the healthy living that some people in our world do not get to experience this joy. This is due to the countless world troubles that multiple people suffer from. If all were solved, more people would be blessed with having a better outlook on the planet and the people in it. The natural response would be relief and hope in general. The clouds and thunderstorm always come before the rainbow. A main goal many countries want is to live in the perfect world. Although this does not always seem realistic, it is a strong desire for many humans. Even a pessimist has some optimism in them. It is in human nature to have this quality. Some people have more than others; however, deep down every individual experiences this either through other people or within themselves. The ideal solution to all problems would be showing the most positive and confident characteristics.
Optimism vs Pessimism
Pessimism is only seeing the horrible. A pessimist would not look for possible results. This does not help the case at all. “Pessimism never won any battle.”– Dwight D. Eisenhower. This is very true because pessimism is staring down the problem. Optimism is learning how to fix it. Some major world problems today are climate change, wars, inequality, and poverty. Several people believe in climate change. Being careful with resources and protecting them may help the cause, but if this is true, communities can only do so much. Wars in the world happen all the time because different people have different opinions. If the world today used optimism to compromise, wars would not occur as often. It is also the only way these are resolved. Inequality of all different sorts happens throughout the planet. It may vary between gender, race, or social status. A positive view of every person being equal to one another is an instant solution to the problem in general. Inequality would not exist today if the world would be filled with optimism as it should. The poverty rate of the world is 10.9% according to Lifewater. That is an immense amount of men, women, and children that have a remarkably little amount of money at all. Poverty leads to homelessness and starvation, two major issues. Lives are being lost on the daily to hunger. Approximately 783 million people die a year to starvation all around the world as stated on the The Borgen Project. If the world worked collectively in a undivided way, others would be aided and would not have to suffer the harsh conditions they fight through each day. Nethertheless, if the world did not have any problems, the humans throughout the lands will still yearn for hope. “Everything that is done in this world is done by hope.” – Martin Luther. Without desire, life is pointless. What would there be to excite over?
Role of Optimism and Confidence
Optimism is a major factor regardless if the world’s strains are solved. In the present day world, getting ready for the time to come is equally as vital as mastering the past. Both are achieved through the optimism each leader holds. This confident energy creates the prime role models and heroes. If the present-day heroes had given up, several of the most exceptional inventions and resolutions would never had happened. What would Earth today look like without optimism?
